iceland!

i thought id write about my iceland trip.. as it was amazing.. so here goes...:

Day 1
Well it started with a rather long bus journey to glasgow airport! unfortunatly someone decided to bring ipod speaker.. so cheesy music + bad singing... you get the idea...
Anyway we arrived in Reykjavik at some strange hour of the night/early morning.

Day 2
First we visited the rift between the Eurasian and American tectonic plates how interesting :P.. actually it was :D...

we drove to Kerid where we saw a collapsed
. Apparently Bjork played a concert here.. how cool!

after this we took a trip to the geysers(click to watch)...

finally the golden waterfall - it was impossible to look at it with out full face protection/well shielding :P.. from the ice/rain/ whatever it was.. but the veiw was amazing.. when your face wasnt being attacked by ice...

Day 3
Selandjafos Waterfall - this apparently is one of the many waterfall throwing itself off an old sea cliff... i mean im sure there are better things to throw yourself off... lol im too funny XP anyway.. this was pretty good as we got to walk behind this waterfall.. after climbing up icy steps!...

After a rather spectacular start to the day.. we visited a folk museum ... this place had a crazy owner.. if u want to see him singing visit this link.... (you may be able to spot me cracking up in it..)
Another waterfall.... (this one had a rainbow.. and a strange iclandic story to go with it about gold :P)

after eating a rather GIANT 'probably gm' apple among other stuff for lunch we walked on a glacier.. then walked off the glacier... it was good anywas but we couldnt go too far due to 'safety' :S .

It was then time for the beach and the basalt columns... this is us sat on them... im in the middle upper part...

we arrived at another hotel where we were in cabins XD we had one massive snow ball fight..... and were late for the bbq..
i dnt rly understand how we can be late for our out BBQ! :s.. anyways there was a rather 'cute' ok he wasnt but still, waiter.. hahahaha ok he had a pink top on.. so vicky decided to chat him up :P.. umm i shall say no more :P.. ahh im sure they put somthing in that food.. i hav never been so hyper... did i mention sliding/sledging down the hill on my suitcase or jonny, alex and lewis.. with pans!

Day 4
I woke up feeling ill.. and threw up.. ok THEY DEFINATLY PUT SOMTHING IN THAT FOOD!!... but i felt better after that.. so it was all good...

ICE LAGOON!!!! this was where one of the recent james bonds was filmed...
it was amazing &&&&& we saw seals ..

At a new hotel.. sarah and i were sharing a room.. i think i'll mention.. we managed to block the toilet! hahahahahahahaha
this provided us with hours of laughter.. as we didnt know how to get rid of.. 'the blockage' hahahaha... umm yeah .. as i said.. THEY DEFINATLY PUT SOMTHING IN THAT FOOD!

Day 5
well we had major snow that night.. if we opened the window we got snowed on!
this ment the road to Rekjavik closed.
soo err we went to an earthquake simulator.... in a post office?!? haha..
we also went to a geothermal powerstation.. no1 had a clue what the tour guide was saying... he didnt speak good english.. & the place smelt like sulphur.. (rotten egg smell) yummmy!
but do not fear the day got better.. we went caving in 'slipknot like' jumpsuites (sarah did the whole slipknot comparison) :P.
there were massive icicles down there & it was pretty slippy.
we went to an outdoor swimming pool.. the err shower system was funny.. you have to completly wash.. naked.. which some chavs which usually love showing there bodys off (haha & eww) got a little over dramatic!
PIZZA night! - all you can eat.. i ate 3 slices :s.. that sucks..
i feel some of us still had dodgy stomachs :P

Day 6
SHOPPING in Reykjavik .. ok everything is very expensive here!
but yeah.. we went to the church which was pretty......

and the veiw of Rekjavik from the top...

anyway back to shopping..
we found some rather cool shops..(cassie & i) .. we found an icelandic wool place.. i got an 'elf' hat.. im wearing it now XD.
and rocks made into art shop.. where i got my mum & dad a rock viking.. it makes me laugh.
we also found a cool goth shop.. where we discussed marilyn manson.. and dita.. with the owner.. what a legend!
..
finally we go to swim in the blue lagoon!!!.. that place is HOT! & we all used the special treatment on out faces.. i dont really think it did much :P..

we went back to the airport.. and left.. flying back to manchester..
